1973-1983 CHEVY TRUCK CHEVROLET GMC C/K STEERING COLUMN TILT AUTOMATIC square

  
Here is the tilt steering column that came out of a 1976 Chevrolet square body truck. The tilt joint is tight and not sloopy. This has factory cruise control. The shifter feels pretty tight. The chrome has rust specs in it. The bad, the shifter does not move or slide. It feels like it is stuck in about D position. It was that way in the truck. I thought it was linkage to the transmission but after I pulled the column out, I realized it was in the steering column. Also the lower firewall mounting plate is missing and I must have left it in the junk truck. The truck is no gone, so that plate is missing. Also these trucks has a clamp like on the outside of the firewall. The inside nut was all rusted and I could not get it off. Those nuts are kinda hard to get off. And when the trucks have sitting for years and everything is rusted up that does not help. So I just torched it off, and I got into the lower tube of the steering column and melted a hole through it. That needs welded up or repaired. This column is best used for parts or it needs restored. The splines all look good. This is factory for 73-83 Chevrolet and GMC trucks.
